So near yet so far!
This was the first year that Worthing had been able to field 2 teams in this traditionally strong competition, it was always going to be tough for the "B"s though it was a good experience for them and hopefully lessons were learnt.
Sixes is a completely different game compared to eleven a side, and the team that is able to master the difference will be the team that will do well. Some of the sides that I thought would do well struggled, they just didn't cope with sixes,and in the end I was pleased with our 3rd placing for the "A"s.
To win this tournament would have been great, but this was our best performance in the 6 years that I have been involved with the college side, and the standard gets higher each and every year, so well done
I was very proud when commented by Alan Grey that what a nice and well behaved bunch Worthing were, and even prouder when "dusty" Miller commented on the great hockey skills that the boys had, it was like being a very proud father of fourteen!
