1st friendly of the season against Collyers and the girls who have been training hard in the Academy were a little nervous to start of with. They started of with a steady pace, a bit wayward with the passing, and also had a slight problem with spacing on the court but they ended the 1st quarter with a comfortable 12 – 3 lead. Collyers then began to start finding their feet a little and kept the Worthing girls working hard to gain more goals the 2nd quarter ending on a 19 – 6 lead. After a half time talk and a few team changes the Worthing girls began to sort out their passing a bit more, and demonstrated a few very good set plays and extended their lead to 38 – 11 in the 3rd quarter. Going into the 4th quarter the girls were told to work on their defence more, and the Collyers team started to improve on their defence as well and kept Worthing out of the scoring zone throughout a lot of the match. The end result was 41 – 12 to Worthing Academy 2nd Netball Team, a good first game, well done ladies!
