Worthing College 41 v Collyers 8 (A)

Round 3 of the Daily Mail saw Worthing travel to Horsham with 5 changes to the side that took the field in the previous round.

Worthing v Collyers is always a very competitive fixture and today would prove no different. From the Kick off Worthing gathered well and made territory which would lead to an early score that would go unconverted. Collyers countered well and dominated the next period of the game which led to a string of penalties from Worthing. Worthing rallied and responded well and went in at half time 12-3 up.

Collyers continued to challenge well at the breakdown after half time but Worthing were to up their game as they refocused at half time.

Worthing had the majority of second half territory and possession and this pressure would lead to some well worked scores.

Most pleasing for Worthing was that they counter attacked well with the back three constantly a threat but the collective performance of the forwards was impressive. The catch and drive was an increasing threat and the tight interplay between the front eight is developing nicely.
