game 3. a small worthing squad tackle a tricky bexhill side at home looking for our first win.
1st quarter; in a slow opening period we came out on top 9-8! a low scoring affair as both teams struggled to find their shooting touch
2nd quarter; our defence stepped up & held bexhill to a single basket in ten minutes! we still could find our scoring form & were up 18-10 at halftime. the game was very sloppy & both teams were playing scrappy defence making scoring very tough.
3rd quarter; another slow very low scoring period. both teams traded baskets & bexhill on the back of a 3 pointer brought the score to 24-21 going into the final stanza
4th quarter; we had to up the tempo of the game & open up the floor. our defence changed & we stepped up. we ran the lanes & scored fast break buckets blowing bexhill of the court in the final minutes. defensive stops turned into full court scores. wev outscored bexhill 19-5 in the 4th & won the game going away 43-26!
a good first win for this group! on to next week & tougher challenges!
