" A TALE OF TWO HALVES "
A team that goes 4 nil down after 12 minutes is a team that usually does not recover and win the match, but
Travelling to deepest ,darkest Sussex with only 10 men would prove to be a tough mission, which within the first 12 minutes was proved to be, the players were having to play out of normal positions and with poor marking Tom Gill,in goal could do little to stop a 4-0 scorline being achieved by the home side. A team going 4-0 up after such a short time will either go on and win the match convincingly, or will mentally think the game is already won and switch off, luckily the latter happened this afternoon and our cunning plan to go 4-0 down and then go on to win the game worked, Worthing managed to reply with 2 goals before half-time....game on!
It was pointed out at the half time team talk that Beacon had a couple off weak links in their defence, so we decided to target them and low and behold free hits and short corners were conceded by the hapless Beacon weak links, within 20 minutes of the re-start we went 6-4 up much to the annoyance of the Beacon supporters, then Beacon scored once again to make the match a nail biting one!
This was a fantastic achievement by the players and proved that they have got a great level of determination and effort and that they can achieve the impossible, bring on
