Alton College V Worthing College Netball 2nd Team

Our first Netball Match in a long time due to weather conditions, we took the hour and half journey up to Alton College, with navigator Pippa not getting me lost once! 

 

The 1^st quarter and the girls settled into the game, passing a bit loose and defending needing a bit of work but with the girls not having the opportunity of match for quite some time the score of  9 – 6 to Worthing College was a promising start.  With no shooter, Jodie and Emma M were doing a good job.

 

In the 2^nd quarter the game plan started to fade a bit, Alton College upped their game and started matching us point for point, Worthing College started giving the ball away a bit and they needed to settle back down and play their own match.  At the end of this quarter is was very clear that we were going to have work very hard if we wanted to win this game.  The score was 13 – 13.

 

With a few half time changes in the 3^rd quarter we went back in and tried to sort out our passing, but it was just not coming together.  With the shooting being still good, the girls were just struggling to get the ball up to Jodie and Emma M so they could get the points for them.  Worthing College held Alton College in this quarter with an end score of 19 – 18, with one point in it we knew to win we would have to get it together, sort out our passing and defending. 

 

In the 4^th quarter things just went wrong, a bit of panic from the Worthing girls, they tried to get the game under control but it just did not happen.  Alton College started to put together some good plays and started to test the Worthing girls.  The game was so close it could of gone either way, but to be honest Worthing College should of taken the game but they just could not manage it in the end.

The game ended on Worthing College 25 – Alton College 27.  Very disappointing for all the girls, but some points to take away and work on ready for the next game.
