Worthing 2nd 29 BHASVIC 10

A good showing from Worthing in this encounter on a sundrenched wind swept BHASVIC Centenary Stadium, this like the Home of rugby at Worthing Leisure Centre was rapidly bringing itself in line with premiership standards as both colleges have a long term plan to be playing in the top flight of the English game.

The home side were short of 3 players and while this was initially disappointing it gave the Worthing side a chance to get plenty of game time and its here on our little journey that I must congratulate and thank Fitzgerald (full game), Jordan (three quarters), Hart (half game), Lee (half game), White N (quarter game) for their sacrifice and sportsmanship for running with the opposition side.

Game on and Worthing were getting it on like ‘Donkey Kong’ running the ball from all parts with Parker getting the side moving well, Anderson made yards with every carry and Luke had learned to play with the rest of his team making him a much greater threat with the ball.

Within a 4 minute period in the first half the visitors laid the rugby smack down with every player making it happen. The video will show some excellent running with the ball, better rucking than in previous weeks and an unexpectedly good line out performance as part of an excellent weeks rugby.

The back row was working well together with Laszlo carrying well from first phase, White P making many tackles and slowing ball down and Cook getting in the face of the half backs. Patrick and Birch were making it very difficult for the opposition line out. Another best game yet for the props of Wigzell and Smart both getting through some good work and Smart even getting on the show boat with a cheeky little back door offload.

Hills was taking care of business with ball in hand and bringing Pumfrey and Hart into the game, the video will show an excellent execution of T-Bone and a great try at the end.

My words can not do justice to the trys scored today so I think that the DVD should take care of that, but it would be remiss of me if I were not mention that many players put their hats into the ring for next weeks county cup final and I like and respect that.

A great week of training and top effort by both teams, congratulations to all.
